Books I’ve Read So Far

Whew! It’s been a very long time since my last post. I’ve been a very busy bee lately, and to get back into blogging, I am picking something easy to cover: a list of books I’ve read so far this year. I have been devouring a ton of books lately, and they are mostly books categorized as “Young Adult.” To me, these books are page turners and they go by so fast due to their quick story lines, and gripping plot. I started the year off right as I had a few book sets gifted to me by my husband, Rob. Here is the list:

  1. The Mortal Instruments Boxed Set, by Cassandra Clare
    • City of Bones
    • City of Ashes
    • City of Glass
    • City of Fallen Angels
  2. Shiver Trilogy Boxed Set, by Maggie Stiefvater
    • Shiver
    • Linger
    • Forever
  3. Trylle Novels Boxed Set, by Amanda Hocking
    • Switched
    • Torn
    • Ascend
  4. A Game of Thrones (part of a boxed set), by George R. R. Martin
  5. The Inventor’s Secret by Andrea Cremer
  6. Circle of Stones by Catherine Fisher

I am currently reading Insanity, by Cameron Jace. I have had a fixation on the Alice in Wonderland story since I was very young, and this book gives the story a bit of a wicked twist. I actually bought this book for my daughter Jasmine, who is also on a book reading extravaganza, but she put this one down (maybe she thought it was too creepy?) and I picked it up on a whim. Or rather, my other books I had lined up to read were two floors down and I just wanted to get started on a new one that night.

Scrapbook Layout: Zoe

Hello all! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. It’s been a very chill Saturday for us, hanging out at home. Saturdays are usually reserved for Jasmine’s soccer activities, but soccer has not started yet as the facility we use for indoor soccer is still organizing the teams. We can’t wait for the next season to start — Jasmine has improved each season and is shaping up to be a very good player. She and her team won the final game last year!

Sundays are always busy for us since we have our church service and then Jasmine has practice with the Hallelujah Kids for a few hours.

By the way, one of the items I forgot to share in my “currents” updates is below:

Currently watching: Season 4 of Breaking Bad. Yeah, we are pretty much on a marathon viewing of Breaking Bad since it is now in its 5th and last season. Can’t wait for Game of Thrones to come back on, as well as Orange is the New Black. Both very good shows. We rarely watch anything live, so everything is either DVR’d, on NetFlix, or On Demand.

The scrapbook layout I am sharing today is about our other Sphynx cat, Zoe. She is the first to greet any strangers in the house, and she has never met a person she didn’t love…immediately. She has a very loud purr and will “pet” herself against you, whether you like it or not! If you aren’t paying attention to her, she will reach out to you and poke or nudge you until you give her some love. It’s hilarious.

Layout details: I used some items from the new Flea Market paper by Maggie Holmes. I love this collection: lots of gold accents, pinks and turquoises. Super cute embellishments. I love when supplies speak to me. As a matter of fact, I tend to create better when the things I’m using tug at me, so to speak.

The main paper is Jenna from Maggie’s Flea Market, and the rest that I layered on the photo are from an American Crafts 6×6 paper pad I bought at Target. I also used the Amy Tangerine wooden alpha stamps and Hero Arts Neon Pink stamp pad to stamp out “Zoe” and “So Loving” for the title. I created a banner by sewing pennants and the Zoe letters on the top left of the page. I sprinkled some “bling” on the page to create a visual triangle (sequins, MH gold flower, Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic gold brads).

Thanks for stopping by!
